Terms of Service
Last updated 24 September 2026
These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your use of Benefito, a loyalty and rewards platform that connects local businesses with their customers through a digital stamp/points card. By creating an account or using Benefito, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who we are
Benefito is a loyalty and rewards platform (the "Service") operated by Tovozo Ltd, a company registered in Scotland. Throughout these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Tovozo Ltd trading as Benefito; "you" refers to anyone using the Service, whether as a Business Account or a Customer Account.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.
A Business Account additionally confirms that they have the authority to act on behalf of the business being registered, and that the business details provided (name, address, and where given, company registration number) are accurate.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may hold one Customer Account and, separately, one Business Account per business you operate, each tied to a single email address per account type.
4. Business Accounts and subscriptions
Business Accounts are billed on a recurring subscription, starting with a free trial period. After the trial ends, your payment method (processed by Stripe, see Section 9) will be charged automatically until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from Business Settings. Cancelling stops future billing at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then, and we don't provide partial refunds for unused time in a billing period.
If a payment fails, we'll try to let you know and give you a short grace period before restricting the account's ability to scan or redeem for customers. Your existing data (members, balances, history) is never deleted for a payment issue alone.
A Business Account only becomes visible to customers in Discover and joinable once it has successfully completed its first billing setup — this is an automated check, not a manual review, and exists to keep abandoned or incomplete signups from appearing as real, active businesses.
Optional company verification (Section 8) does not affect billing or visibility — it's a separate trust signal, not a requirement to operate an account.
5. Customer Accounts and rewards
Creating and using a Customer Account is free. There is no charge to join a business's rewards program, earn stamps or points, or redeem rewards you've earned.
Stamps and points have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts or businesses, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not your property in any legal sense — they are a record of progress toward rewards that each business defines and controls.
Each business sets its own rewards, redemption catalogue, and how many stamps/points are earned per visit or amount spent. We don't guarantee any particular reward will remain available, and a business may change or discontinue rewards at its discretion.
A business may offer a bonus to a member who invites a friend and to that friend, credited only when the friend joins that business for the first time. Whether a bonus is offered, and how much, is up to each business.
If you leave a business's program, your balance is kept for 30 days in case you rejoin. After 30 days, rejoining starts your balance at zero.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't create fake, impersonated, or unauthorized Business Accounts for a business you don't operate.
- Don't attempt to manipulate stamp/point balances outside the normal scan/redeem flow, or exploit bugs for unearned rewards.
- Don't misuse staff scanning tools, PINs, or device approval to access accounts or data you're not authorized to see.
- Don't post content (business updates, reports, or any other submission) that is illegal, fraudulent, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights.
- Don't attempt to circumvent payment, verification, or moderation systems.
7. Content and moderation
Business Accounts may post updates (text and images) visible to their customers. Submitted content is automatically screened before publishing, and content that appears to violate these Terms may be held for review or blocked, with a reason shown to the poster.
Customers can report a business for misleading, fraudulent, or otherwise concerning behavior. We review reports and may take action including removing content, restricting features, or suspending accounts.
You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us a license to store, display, and process it as needed to operate the Service (including sending it to our content moderation provider, see Section 9).
8. Company verification
Business Accounts based in the United Kingdom may optionally verify a company registration number against the UK's Companies House public register. Verification is purely informational (shown as a trust signal) and never a requirement to use the Service.
Because Companies House only covers limited companies and LLPs — not sole traders or ordinary partnerships — this option isn't available to every legitimate business, and the absence of automatic verification is not itself evidence of anything. Businesses without an automatic verification path can request manual review instead.
9. Third-party services
Operating Benefito relies on third-party services who process data on our behalf, each for a specific purpose:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, file storage, and backend infrastructure.
- Stripe — processes Business Account subscription payments. We never see or store your full card details.
- OpenAI — screens business update posts for policy violations before they're published, and, if you use it, analyzes menu photos or PDFs you upload to draft menu items for your review.
- Twilio — sends a one-time SMS code if you choose to verify a phone number.
- LocationIQ — powers business address search and autocomplete during signup.
- Companies House (UK Government) — the public register used for optional company verification.
- Expo — delivers push notifications to your device.
10. Intellectual property
The Benefito app, its branding, and its underlying software are our property or licensed to us. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond what's needed to use the Service as intended.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular business's offers or claims are accurate — that responsibility sits with the business posting them.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of stamps/points balances due to a business closing, changing its program, or a technical issue.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, engages in fraud, or poses a risk to other users or the Service.
You can permanently delete your own account and its data at any time from Settings — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what that removes.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes, make reasonable efforts to notify active accounts in-app.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
